A Beautiful Life!

DEANNA'S STORY

The Journey from Chappell to Maxfield

created by Royce Maxfield

Dedication

Dedicated to Deanna
A Tethered Angel

“Your calling," He said, “To obedient be…
is… mother; for eternity.
Show compassion, love, and meticulous care.
Especially when you do their hair.”
She nodded, then kneeled  and prayed for awhile.
(It takes lots of skill to create a hairstyle.)
The task became: two children and grands.
Example unfailing, she took their hands.
Remembering others, herself she denied.
Hardworking and patient, anxious and kind.
The trials of the children she herself bore.
And when it got worse, she suffered some more.
“How can I help?” Her daily request.
Sharing the burden is what she does best.
Observed by a God, she was unaware,
until He arrived and beckoned her near.
"Your reward is due. You are faithful indeed.
From your earthly woes you can now be freed.
What binds you; you may now untie.
Unfurl those wings. Take to the sky.”
She kneeled and said, “I've lived faithfully,
Could I trade these wings for a blessing or three?
Please grant my dear children their righteous desires,
Help them bear up against traitors and liars.
Help them be true and avoid all that’s folly,
And give them some candy, a  super big  lolly...
...pop.”
”Because you asked, you shall receive,”
The Lord embraced her, then took His leave.
Her wings were  useless. She wasn’t perturbed
Bound to her family is what she preferred.
Contentedly earthbound. Thank Heaven above.
She remains our Mother, the Angel we love.
