Mom, Grandmother, Mildred, Great Grandmo, Sister Norris, Mil, Honey, Doll ... These are just some of the many names by which Mildred Etta Hensley Norris has been called.
When Speed and Edna Hensley named their first daughter on May 25, 1928, they may have been aware that Mildred means "Gentle Strength." However, they could not have known that eighty years later, she would so truly exemplify her given name. We, her family, take this opportunity to do as the scripture in Proverbs 31:28 suggests and "Rise up and call our mother blessed."
